Exams
There are currently three levels to the Amateur Radio Exam (details correct as of 02 January 2022) please see the RSGB website for more details.

There are currently two forms an exam can take - either online, or paper. Both exams take the questions from the same 'pool', and both have the same number of questions and knowledge split between the topics - it really is just a question of choice as Newton le Willows Amateur Radio Club are capable of offering both systems.
There is now also no need to complete the practical assesments at either Foundation or Intermediate levels (there were never any practical assesments for the Full exam), though the practical assesments proved very useful to those that had never used radio communication equipment before. Fro this reason, Newton le Willows Amateur Radio Club can still offer these 'assesments' as practical demonstrations if required. The practical demonstrations we think would be most useful are:
- Make a contact on VHF or UHF
- Tune a HF radio to the following signals
- SSB voice
- SSTV
- Morse Code
- PSK
- FT8
- Set up an HF station
- Set up a VHF / UHF station
- Tune a dipole
- Solder a PL259 connector
Assuming we have the equipment available we can also demonstrate many other topics from Amateur Radio, please ask a member of the club for help.
