Matchmoor Lane is located on the side of Winter Hill. It is a very poular spot for Amateur Radio operators with very directional aerials as it gives a very clear path across vast distances (ideal for VHF / UHF / Microwave).
You will often find club members on Matchmoor Lane (along with other Amateur Radio Enthusiasts) on summers evenings just enjoying the view, or having a chinwag with fellow Radio Amateurs over the air
